This free resource will provide your church with a full-year of conversation starters across five categories: general information, relationship building, church research, discipleship, and year end reflection.
Clergy Appreciation Content
Congregation Messages: Collect appreciation messages from your congregation. Share the messages as a text-overlay over the clergy member honored. In the caption, encourage your followers to share their messages in the comments.
Prayer Videos: Post a short video clip of a member praying for your pastor. In the caption, encourage your viewers to pray for your pastor and other church leaders on their own. Include on-screen captions.
Shout-Outs: Record a student sharing what they appreciate most about their ministry leader. Keep the video under 30 seconds. Include on-screen captions.
Behind-The-Scenes Prep: Share a “Day in the Life” style video of your pastor preparing for Sunday service. Share an appreciation message in the caption.
Advanced: Create a compilation video of your pastor preparing for Sunday service. Start capturing content one month in advance. Here’s a fun and light-hearted example of the content idea from the Fountain of Praise Church.
“How Well Do You Know The Pastor” Challenge: Similar to the heads-up game, share your pastor’s signature saying on a mobile phone. Without showing the screen to someone, ask them to guess the saying on the screen. Give them vague clues to guide their response. Here’s a great example from Discovery Church Orlando.
Church Content
Why We’re Different: Share three reasons why your church is unique. Include captivating photos (representing the list presented), and an invite to Sunday service.
Sunday Message Highlight: Share a 30-second clip from Sunday’s sermon with captions. In the caption, include a call-to-action to watch the full video on YouTube or your website.
Day in the Life - Part 2: Show behind-the-scenes moments of your leaders preparing for Sunday service. Here’s a great example from @passion.crtv.
Meet The Greeters: Introduce your church greeters. In the caption, ask your followers to stop and say hello before service.
Simple: Mic up a greeter. Video record their interactions before service. Here’s a great example from Discovery Church Orlando.
Advanced: Invite a young student to serve as a church greeter for the day. Record their interactions. Here’s a great example from Mountain City Church.
Top Sermons Playlist: Use YouTube’s channel analytics to discover your most-watched Sunday services.
Splice out the sermon messages only, and include chapters for each main points in the message.
Upload the messages to a “Most- Popular Messages” playlist on your YouTube channel.
Community Outreach: Share photos and videos of your members serving in the community. Be descriptive in the caption. Think … who, what, when, where, why, and how.
Discipleship Content
Pray at 6pm Challenge: Ask your entire congregation to post at the same time: “How can I pray for you?”. Encourage your members to pause and pray as responses come in.
Weekly Kids’ Bible Story: Invite parents and children to a short weekly Bible story. Stream your children’s minister sharing the story live on Facebook and YouTube.
Hope for the Hurting: Share an encouraging post or reminder for those feeling hopeless. Publish the post between 10pm - 12am. Here’s a simple version by Concord Church.
Common Struggles: Share tips on how to battle a common problem faced by many. Like this example on anxiety from Life Church.
Reflecting Christ: Share three practical ways people can reflect Christ’s love to neighbors and friends this month.
Bible Story for Adults: Share a Bible story in a modern way. Share how God’s word can still be applied to today’s circumstances. Check out this example from LifePoint Church Virginia.
Fall Festival Content
Include your website link in every post for event registration or volunteering.
Photo and Video Recap: Post photo or video highlights from the year prior with three reasons not to miss this year’s festival.
Fall Celebration: Snap a captivating of fall in your community. Ask your followers to share what they enjoy the most about fall. Include an invite to your festival at the end of the post caption.
Activity Poll: Ask your audience what activities they would like to see at this year’s festival.
Trunk-or-Treat Showcase: Share a collection of your favorite “Trunk or Treat” displays from last year. In the caption, share excitement for seeing this year’s displays.
